Dreaming of Nicaragua

I leave for the “Land of Lakes and Volcanoes” in 13 days.  I’m becoming restless and anxious.  Unlike many of my trips, I know quite a bit about Nicaragua: I visited the Central American country in December 2006.  On this upcoming trip, I’ll be staying for three weeks and expect to explore more places, including Lago Cocibolca and its islands.  I’d also like to explore the Solentiname region in the south, which has the Solentiname archipelago and the Rio San Juan.  But wherever I end up going, I know I’ll find enjoyment in seeing the sights, meeting the people, and hopefully spotting some of the incredible species found in the region.  Here’s a few photos from my last trip (taken with a Canon G5):
